
Professor Ajoke Oyegbami

Professor Oyegbami Ajoke is a professor of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development at, Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, Obafemi Awolowo University, Moor Plantation Ibadan. She has been involved in agricultural extension, technology transfer, training capacity building of farmers, including youth and women for over two decades. Her research focuses on agricultural extension/technology dissemination, women and youth development.
She has participated in various projects such as West African Agricultural Productivity Program (WAAPP), , Department for International Development (DFID) on Urban Agriculture, United State Alumni Engagement (USAE) innovation on countering oil spill, Korea Africa: Food and Agricultural Cooperation (KAFACI), Africa Plant Nutrition (APNI), Integrated Nitrogen Studies in Africa (INSA). She also participated in SASAKAWA Africa in the development of training curriculum for agriculture in Southwest Nigeria to mention few
She was a visiting scientist to New Castle University United Kingdom for 4 weeks on Urban Agriculture, and also a visiting Social Scientist to University of TOULOUSE, France for two months (1st May – 30th June, 2023) through the EU H2020, Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) MSCA-RISE INSA on “Integrated Nitrogen Studies in Africa (INSA)” with focus on Social aspect of Nitrogen.
She was the team leader for Lagos State Agricultural Development Authority (LASADA) where she conducted Monthly Technology Review Meetings (MTRM) for 3 years (2016 — 2019), Acting Head of Kenaf and Jute Program, the Zonal Coordinator for REFILS (Research-Extension-Farmers-Input Linkage System) in Southwest Nigeria (2022-2025). She is the coordinator (in I.A.R&T) of an international project – Midgal/Galilio on development of FirmHive App to monitor farm activities of farmers.
She is currently the Zonal Coordinator of NIFAAS for Southwest Nigeria; she is also a member of Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria (AESON), Rural Sociological Association of Nigeria (RUSAN), and Society for Fibre Crop Development.
