Dr Oluwakemi Aderonke OJO

Oluwakemi was born in the Early 80’s in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. From a young age, she displayed a keen interest in Agriculture, particularly Animal Science. Encouraged by her parents, Kemi had different classes of livestock as pets. She took time out to raise and nurture them and watched them mature and reproduce. She became passionate about livestock production at a tender age and decided to pursue her career in that direction. She graduated from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, Second-Class Upper (2005) and proceeded to obtain a Masters degree in Animal Science (2010) and a PhD. (2014) where she majored in Animal Breeding and Genetics.
Growing up in a family of academics, she decided to pursue a career in lecturing at Department of Agricultural Extension, Federal College of Forestry, Jos (2010-2013) and proceeded to National Agricultural Extension Research and Liaison Services (NAERLS), Ahmadu Bello University Nigeria, where she rose to the rank of Principal Extension Specialist (Livestock), 2013 to present.
In her free time, she enjoys shopping, cooking and visiting friends. Kemi is self-motivated, diligent and principled. She loves nature and hopes to continue making a positive impact through her work.
Kemi continues to be an influential figure in the Livestock community, known for her innovative approach and commitment to work. Her work has been featured in numerous peer reviewed publications, and she remains dedicated to inspiring future generations of animal scientist.
