The executive council of NIFAAS, in a meeting of August 2024, mandated that the Annual General Meeting should be held in November 2024. To this end, a 6-man planning committee was set up, to be headed by the Vice President (north), Dr Issa F.O. The members are: Dr Mercy Akeredolu, Dr Christiana Malgwi, Dr Kemi Ojo, Dr Alice Fabiyi, Dr Godfrey Onagwa, and Mr Sunday Ojochonu (secretary0. New Executive Council is formed
It is noteworthy that the first AGM was held in 2015 at the Fadama House in Abuja, with an attendance of about 40 members of the Forum. The second was held at the NIFAAS Secretariat in Zaria in 2016, with over 70 members in attendance. The third was held at the University of Ibadan in 2017, with about 70 members and 20 new entrants into the CF. The fourth was held in 2018 at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, with about 65 members in attendance. The CF then took a strong decision that, thenceforth, all AGMs should be held centrally in Abuja. Hence, the fifth, sixth and seventh AGMs were held in Abuja. It is noteworthy that during the active days of Covid-19 pandemic and thereafter, the AGMs were held as hybrid programmes to allow for wider participation among members. For example, at the 2021 AGM, there were about 52 physical participants and 120 virtual participants. Also during this period (2020 upwards), the AGM included a symposium segment, where topical national/global issues on agricultural advisory are discussed, and a keynote presentation is made. The 2022 AGM was held in Abuja as a side event at the Africa Policy Dialogue in Nicon Luxury Hotel, Garki, Abuja. Also, the 9th AGM was held in 2023 alongside the 6 AAEW event in Abuja, between 5th and 11th November 2023.
