NIFAAS Holds Workshop on the New Extensionist and Professionalization of Rural Advisory Services

The much advertised Workshop on the New Extensionist and Professionalization of Rural Advisory Services (RAS) was held between 2nd and 4th November 2016 at the NAERLS Conference Hall, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. The workshop was the product of a collaboration between the Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS), the African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS) and the Nigerian Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (NIFAAS). It drew participation from all sections of the Nigerian agricultural extension and advisory services sector. The three day programme was highly commended by the participants, as well as members of the press. The take home included the readiness to begin the process of professionalizing the country’s extension system in line with global trend.
